The Rev’d. Peter W. Gray, Rector

The Rev’d Peter Gray has served at Nativity since 2013.  A native of Oxford, Mississippi, he graduated from Millsaps College in 2004, received a Master of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2006, and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2008.  He and his wife, Giulianna, also a priest, began their ordained ministry in New Orleans in 2008, where he served first as an Spanish-language missioner with St. Anna’s and Grace Episcopal Churches and then as Associate Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church.  Giulianna currently serves as Priest-in-Charge at St. Stephen’s, Indianola.  Together, they have two children, Joseph and Francesca.  In his free time, Peter  chases children.

Sarah has worked in various roles at Nativity since 2012. Sarah is originally from Portland, Oregon, attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts for her undergraduate degree, and is currently working toward a Master of Nonprofit Administration degree at the University of Notre Dame. Sarah moved to Mississippi to work as a high school Spanish teacher at Amanda Elzy High School, where she taught for three years. Sarah enjoys organizing, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Steve Iwanski has worked with the children and youth of Nativity since June of 2014. Originally from the small but mighty state of Rhode Island, Steve attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his Bachelor of Arts in English in 2009. Upon graduating, Steve made the move to Mississippi to work in the Carroll County School District, where he worked for four years. Steve continues to utilize his teaching talents through leading Nativity’s children’s and youth programming. Steve also enjoys working at Turnrow Books and spending time with his wife Sarah, his son Nate, and Golden Retriever Rudy.



David Williamson, Choirmaster & Organist

A native of Durant, Mississippi, David Williamson studied Organ and Sacred Music at Delta State University and privately with the late Joe A. Morrow at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Memphis, where he was Joe’s last assistant.  He enjoys cooking, gardening, and preservation, particularly of old pipe organs.
