Miss Swayze, Mr. Meacham wed at Nativity

Melissa McNeil Swayze and Jay Foster Meacham, both of Ridgeland, were wed the 15th day of January at Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones Swayze Jr. of Greenwood.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wayne Meacham Jr. of Brookhaven.

The Rev. Craig Richard Hunter Gates officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Nuptial music was provided by organist Debra Atkinson, trumpeter Andy Hall and vocalist Connie Black.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a classic Ulla Maija strapless A-line gown fashioned from duchess silk satin. The bias-designed gown, featuring diagonal panels with welted seams, flowed into a chapel train.

She wore a veil of bias-edged silk illusion that fell from a tiara, designed by Karen Fenaroli, of sprays of freshwater pearls and crystals entwined with porcelain flowers.

Julie Swayze McLemore and Allison Swayze Pillow, sisters of the bride, served as matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jenny Marie Meacham and Julia Anna Meacham of Brookhaven, Jill Adele Meacham of Ridgeland, Anna Lucille Mudter of Chicago, and Ann Farrell Roberson of Vicksburg.

They wore a two-piece ensemble of silk satin organza. The top was strapless, in ivory. The floor-length A-line skirt was in papaya.

The bridegroom's father was best man.

Groomsmen were Michael Warren Berner of New Orleans; Thomas James Crozier of Charlotte, N.C.; Martin Lowery Satin of Nottingham, N.H.; Charles Jones Swayze III and Christopher Shaun Walker of Ridgeland; and Floyd Beck Warren of Brookhaven.

Ushers were Thomas Brad Barker of Clinton; James Clayton Green, Andrew Scott Johnson and Brian Carter Long of Madison; and William David McClendon and Kelly Quinn Thompson of Jackson.

Acolytes were Hamilton Moss Brown and Matthew Morgan Hargett.

Wedding programs were distributed by Elizabeth Vaughn Avant, Anna Claire Bush and Chloe Lane Bush.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Greenwood Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Ridgeland.
