Sunday School Kickoff

  • Church of the Nativity 400 Howard Street Greenwood, MS, 38930 (map)

As summer draws to a close and the back-to-school excitement fills the air, we are thrilled to announce the return of our Sunday School program at Nativity!

Join us on Sunday, September 10th, as we kick off a new season of Christian formation for all ages. Our Sunday schedule will resume with a wonderful parish breakfast at 9:00 AM. Let's gather around the table, share good food and fellowship, and set the tone for a day of spiritual growth and connection.

Here's what's in store for our Sunday School Kickoff:

Nursery: 7:30 AM-11:30 AM
For our littlest ones, the nursery is open during worship hours, so parents can fully engage in the service while knowing their children are well cared for.

Parish Breakfast: 9:00 AM, Parish Hall
Get ready to enjoy a delicious breakfast. It's a perfect way to fuel up and catch up with friends old and new.

Godly Play for Children: 3K-5K (9:30 AM - 11 AM) / 1st-4th Grade (9:30 AM - 10:20 AM)
Discover the wonders of God's stories through creative play, mentorship, and worship. Our dedicated teachers will guide your children through this Montessori-based approach to Christian formation.

Adult Forum: 9:30 AM, Lucas Library
Adults, join the Adult Forum for engaging discussions and learning opportunities. Our rotating series covers a range of topics, so there's always something new to explore together.

Junior High Sunday School: 9:30 AM
For our older kids, grades 5-8, we offer a specialized program that builds on the foundation of Godly Play and deepens their understanding of the faith.

Chancel Choir Rehearsal: 9:30 AM, Choir Room
If you have the gift of song and a passion for worship, join our Chancel Choir. This dedicated group of volunteer parishioners enriches our Sunday 10:30 AM worship with their beautiful voices. The choir is always eager to welcome new singers.

Episcopal Youth Community (EYC): 5:00 PM, Parish Hall
Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to our Sunday Night Youth Group, filled with fun, outreach, Bible study, and fellowship. Together, we'll journey on a path of spiritual growth and service.

We can't wait to see everyone back at Nativity, ready to learn, grow, and embrace the love and knowledge of God. As we embark on this new season of Christian formation, let's come together in unity and dedication to our faith.

Don't forget to sign up to provide breakfast and EYC meals – sign-up sheets are available in the kitchen.

See you on Sunday, September 10th, as we start this exciting journey of learning and worship together!
